Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute MB0210 was released in 2013 as a limited edition of 1,000 celebrating 50 years anniversary of Aurora 7 space mission. The timepiece features a 43mm Blacksteel case, water-resistant to 30 meters, made of stainless steel with a DLC coating, with its distinctive 24-hour dial and classic Navitimer slide rule rotating bezel, which allows for calculation of speed, distance and other navigation tasks. The original Cosmonaute was worn by astronaut Scott Carpenter aboard the Aurora 7 capsule in 1962 and became the first Swiss wristwatch worn in space. This customized Navitimer, with a 24-hour dial, allowed Carpenter to differentiate between AM and PM during his three orbits of Earth. In reference to that, the Cosmonaute Blacksteel is engraved with the Aurora 7 mission insignia on its case back. it features chronograph and date functions and powered by in-house B02 manual wind chronograph movement. It is a very rare collector’s set of the watch with a very distinctive design, celebrating event of important historical significance
